Nancy and Dick Friedman

Rogerson was delighted to honor Richard L. Friedman with the 2016 Charles E. Rogerson Award.  Mr. Friedman, a native of the Boston area is known for his landmark luxury hotels and impressive record of civic and charitable service. His public service includes several government appointments by Presidents Clinton and Obama. Mr. Friedman serves on the Board of Trustees at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum and was a founding member of The Steppingstone Foundation, an innovative non-profit dedicated to preparing underserved students for college success. An enthusiastic supporter of Urban Improv’s mission of positive youth development, Mr. Friedman is a regular performer at Banned in Boston, their annual fundraiser. He maintains his membership in the Screen Actors Guild and has appeared in very inconsequential roles in various major motion pictures. Mr. Friedman’s business acumen is highly valued. He is founder and president of Carpenter & Company, Inc., a real estate development company with a portfolio that includes The Charles Hotel in Cambridge, The Liberty Hotel in Boston, and the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco. Mr. Friedman is currently building a new Four Seasons Hotel and Residences in Boston.
