Board Member Makes Quarter-Million Dollar Donation in Support of Massive Senior Living Community Redevelopment
Rogerson Communities announced today the receipt of a charitable gift of $250,000 made by Darlene L. Boroviak. The gift will cover predevelopment expenses related to the organization’s planned redevelopment of its Daggett-Crandall-Newcomb Home (DCN) community in Norton. The transformational project represents a tenfold expansion of Rogerson’s footprint and mission in southeastern Massachusetts. Currently a 25-bed, single-level assisted living residence, DCN is being reimagined as a purpose-built senior living campus offering 103 independent living apartments, 100 independent living cottages, and 48 supportive living beds, including memory care. Fifty-five acres of fields and woodlands around the development will be conserved for resident and community use. Farnsworth Trust Awards Over Half a Million Dollars for Memory Care Redevelopment
Rogerson Communities today announced the award of a $665,000 grant from the Charles H. Farnsworth Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee, in support of the redevelopment of its memory care community in Jamaica Plain. The redevelopment project is the transformation of the organization’s flagship community, Rogerson House, across from Jamaica Pond. The plans include the creation of 41 new affordable independent living apartments in addition to 66 new memory care units to replace existing services on the 3.2 acre campus. Hall’s distinguished career in real estate spans more than three decades. Rogerson House Redevelopment Project Receives Full Zoning Approval
At the beginning of June, Rogerson Communities received full zoning approval from the City of Boston for our Rogerson House redevelopment project in Jamaica Plain. This approval, granted unanimously by Boston’s Zoning Board of Appeals, caps off a two-year entitlements process involving multiple public meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder discussions. Originally opened in 1997 as the Boston Alzheimer’s Center, Rogerson House was the first assisted living community in Greater Boston to care exclusively for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease. Our flagship community will now be redeveloped to contemporary standards with a wide array of improvements.
