Rogerson Adds New Chief Operating Officer to Leadership Team

Rogerson Communities today announced the hiring of a new Chief Operating Officer, Michael Quirk. Quirk, who served most recently as Vice President of Housing Operations at Integritus Healthcare in Pittsfield, Mass., will assume his new post on December 1.

“We’re thrilled that we found an executive as experienced and dedicated to the well-being of older adults as Mike,” said Rogerson President and CEO Walter Ramos. “The COO role calls not just for deep knowledge of senior living, housing, and care services, but also a passion for mission-driven work like ours. It demands excellence in operational and team leadership, strategic execution, compliance and risk management, and financial stewardship. Mike has all of that and more. He’s a great fit for this organization.”

Quirk will assume a key position within Rogerson’s senior leadership team at a pivotal moment, both for the organization and for the older adults who depend on it during an unprecedented crisis in senior care. As Rogerson enters the second year of a five-year strategic plan, Quirk will be charged with unifying and strengthening Rogerson’s operations as it moves toward its goal of achieving operational excellence.

Centralizing operations and increasing cross-functional collaboration will help Rogerson grow purposefully, strategically, and sustainably to reach its target of 1,000 new affordable housing units by 2030, as well as expand its portfolio of programs and services for older adults across Massachusetts.

Quirk is a proven leader who is comfortable in large, complex, and highly integrated institutions. His professional background encompasses nearly 15 years of experience in executive roles in independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and continuing care organizations throughout Massachusetts, including Rogerson’s Briarwood community in Worcester, Mass. His track record of success ranges from consistently stabilizing and increasing occupancy to developing and implementing budgets, capital plans, and improvement projects.

“I truly appreciate the opportunity to support the important, mission-driven work that Rogerson continues to do after so many years serving older adults in Greater Boston and eastern Massachusetts, as well as in Worcester,” said Quirk. “There are so many who depend on Rogerson, from the residents and participants we serve to the professionals we employ. It’s all about people, and expanding our reach to serve more is crucial to realizing our vision.”
