Jeffrey Sacks, Senior Counsel at Nixon Peabody, to be Honored with Rogerson Communities’ Highest Recognition

Rogerson Communities is proud to announce that Jeffrey W. Sacks and Nixon Peabody will be recognized with the Charles E. Rogerson Award, the organization’s most prestigious honor.

Jeff Sacks’s career spans more than forty years of dedicated service in affordable housing, during which he has been an important attorney for, and great friend to, Rogerson Communities. Since his first work for Rogerson in the 1980s at Peter Faneuil House, the Joy Street Residence, and Beacon House, his work has positively impacted older adults across the region. He is a household name in affordable housing and a more-than-deserving honoree of this distinction.

“We are thrilled to honor Jeff and Nixon Peabody with the Charles E. Rogerson Award for Community Service,” shares Walter Ramos, President and CEO of Rogerson Communities. “Rogerson wouldn’t be the organization it is today without Jeff’s support and passion. Jeff’s work has tremendously bolstered the impact we’ve had on older adults in our community over the last few decades.”

Named for Board President Charles Rogerson whose leadership catalyzed the organization’s growth early in the 20th century, the Charles E. Rogerson Award is annually bestowed upon a Bostonian who truly embodies the Rogerson mission. Charles Rogerson’s legacy inspires individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors to demonstrate heart, strength, and compassion for older adults.

Rogerson’s mission is focused on low-income older adults—a community routinely overlooked and one that is outgrowing available support. The need for affordable housing and the services that allow this community to age with dignity is the bedrock of the organization’s ambitious five-year strategic plan.

“Nixon Peabody’s goal of advancing our clients’ objectives and our longstanding commitment to affordable and senior housing development is well aligned with Rogerson’s mission,” said Jeff. “I’m proud of this relationship and all we have accomplished together. I am honored and humbled to be recognized with this award.”

The Charles E. Rogerson Award honoree list includes Sec. John Kerry, Gov. Michael Dukakis and Kitty Dukakis, Hon. William Weld, Brit d’Arbeloff, Lee Pelton, Jack Connors, and Hon. Charlie Baker.

Jeff Sacks and Nixon Peabody will be celebrated at Rogerson Communities’ annual Welcome Home Gala, Boston’s premier fundraising event for older adults. The Gala will be held on September 29, 2025, at Boston Harbor Hotel.
