 Now
offering Rogerson
Fitness FIRST in all adult day health programs!
Rogerson
Communities was a pioneer in providing day programs for elders,
opening its first program in 1978.
Today,
Rogerson Communities offers four adult day programs in Greater
Boston:
Rogerson
Communities Adult Day Center, Roslindale
Rogerson
Communities Adult Day Center Dementia Program, Roslindale
Rogerson
Brookline Adult Day Health Program, Brookline
Rogerson
House Adult Day Program, Jamaica Plain
From
the outset, the Rogerson day programs have served a very needy
population. Most participants would be institutionalized in
nursing homes if not for adult day services coupled with family
and other informal support. The programs bear little resemblance
to child day care or senior "drop in centers" because
they provide sophisticated health care and social support.
Participants
come with diagnoses that include diabetes, high blood pressure,
complications due to stroke or coronary disease, memory loss
and major depression.
Services
include:
Medication
administration
Dressing changes
Physical therapy
Monitoring blood sugar, other vital signs and diet
Licensed
nurses and social workers provide treatment and counsel participants
and their families on a wide variety of health and social
needs.
Memory
loss programs
The Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation selected the Rogerson Communities dementia
program, which serves people with Alzheimer's disease and
related memory disorders, as one of 50 nationwide to demonstrate
the efficacy of day treatment for Alzheimer's patients.
