health, good spirits
The
Rogerson Brookline Adult Day Health Program is a friendly
place to meet people, explore new activities and rekindle
old interests while having access to needed health services.
Participants
come to the center during the day for organized and independent
activities, a hot lunch and refreshments, then return
home in the afternoon.
Who
benefits from the Adult Day Health Program?
Adults who want to participate in community life
through daily activities, outings and sharing common interests
Those whose health situation should be regularly
monitored, including those with diabetes, high blood pressure,
stroke, heart attack or other chronic illness
Persons who need medication supervision, administration
or prefilling of pillboxes/syringes
Older adults who may not be eating properly or
adequately on their own
Families who worry about leaving an older person
alone all day, or who may be considering giving up a job
in order to care for that person

Trips to restaurants, concerts, museums, movies
and shops
Educational and current events programs
Daily fitness programs, including stretching and
toning, aerobic exercise and strength training
Gardening, crafts and creative arts
Art, music, and in-house concerts
Breakfast, hot lunch and refreshments served daily.
All meals meet USDA requirements
Health
care, social services
Our on-staff registered nurse and licensed social worker:
Help coordinate participants' medical care and
arrange medical appointments and physical and occupational
therapy
Arrange transportation to and from the program
and medical appointments
Continually assess participants' medical condition
Administer medications, including eye drops and
injections such as insulin
Change dressings and provide wound care
Monitor blood sugar levels, blood pressure, heart
rate and temperature
Administer flu shots
Supervise restorative therapy programs
Provide participant advocacy, counseling and family
support
Accepted
funding
Private pay, long term care insurance, Medicaid,
ASAP homecare agencies and other sources
Transportation
Van, chaircar or taxi cab
Other transportation can be arranged
Hours
Monday through Friday
Flexible; open 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

in the Rogerson Brookline Adult Day Health Program, please

Location
Located three blocks from the Coolidge Corner crossing,
the Rogerson Brookline Adult Day Health Program in the
Brookline Senior Center is conveniently located for all
residents of Brookline. Transportation is available.
