Rogerson Communities serves as a leading provider of affordable housing for
Greater Boston's elders and working individuals and families, adult day
health and fitness programs and resources for families affected by Alzheimer's
disease and memory loss.
Rogerson's achievements have been recognized with awards including the

VICE PRESIDENT, DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNITY RELATIONS ANNE MORTON SMITH RECEIVES MASSAGING’S COMMUNITY SERVCE AWARD, 2009
MassAging recognized Anne Morton Smith for her tireless work with Roxbury’s Egleston Square Main Streets (ESMS) organization which works to promote, retain and expand business and improve facades and streetscapes. As an ESMS Board member and volunteer she has recruited volunteers and donors, organized fundraisers, and staffed neighborhood clean-ups, among other countless efforts, all geared toward increasing the visibility and viability of this unique area.
BOARD VETERAN JOHN CUPPLES RECEIVES MASSAGING’S BOARD LEADERSHIP AWARD, 2009
John Cupples has served on the Rogerson Communities Board of Trustee for over 25 years. His strong leadership derives from dedication, work and sacrifice. He has served on many committees over his 25 years. John was Chair of the Board during their most dramatic growth period for Rogerson where they doubled in size.

Rogerson Communities 2009 Annual Report is a 2009 American Graphic Design Award winner, by Graphic Design USA, a leading publication which reports on print and digital design trends around the nation. The report was designed by Nancy Bradham, of Bradham Design in Needham, MA; photography by Michelle Doucette of Indresano Photography in Boston.
MINORITY AND WOMEN BUSINESS UTILIZATION ACKNOWLEDGEMENT; 2009
MassHousing acknowledged Rogerson Communities’ dedication to working with and hiring minority and women vendors and individuals again this October. Rogerson Communities met or exceeded the management goals set by MassHousing for working with Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE). Rogerson Communities won an award for excellence for the highest WBE percentage achievement In Linkage Area II.

Congratulations to Rogerson President Jamie Seagle for his receipt of the Community Service award from the Greater Boston Chinese Golden Age Center. Rogerson is currently working with the GBCGAC to redevelop the Hong Lok House, bringing much-needed housing and supportive services to the elder community in Chinatown.

DIRECTOR OF HOUSING MANAGEMENT HEATHER ORODENKER RECEIVES MASSAGING'S OUTSTANDING MENTOR AWARD, 2008
MassAging recognized Heather Orodenker for her cultivation of new talent in the elder housing field. Heather has a unique capacity to identify candidates with excellent character who may have little management experience but have a strong drive to learn and the ability to accept direction. Combining her many years of solid property management experience with a commitment to the personal and professional success of her staff members has allowed her to help these individuals grow into exceptional property managers.

In Linkage Area I, Rogerson Communities exceeded the WBE goal, and in Linkage Area II and the Balance of State Area, Rogerson Communities met or exceeded the MBE and WBE goal.
MASSACHUSETTS AGING SERVIES ACHIEVEMENT AWARD; 2007
The Rogerson Communities Board of Directors Visiting Committee received the Massachusetts Aging Services 2007 Achievement Award for Board Leadership. Over the course of a 15-month period the Visiting Committee met with 490 participants, residents, family members and caregivers at 16 residences and adult day health programs in order to receive honest feedback about the quality of facilities and care. The award recognized the Visiting Committee’s dedication to ensuring excellence in all of Rogerson’s residences and day programs.
COMMUNITY HEALTH AWARD; 2004
The Friends of Brookline Public Health presented Rogerson Fitness
FIRSTTM and the Brookline Council on Aging
with the 2004 Community Health Award for efforts to promote wellness and
quality of life among the elderly. Rogerson Fitness FIRST is
a strength and fitness program which uses Nautilus equipment specially
created for elders. The program focuses on allowing them to not only enhance
their health, but also to increase their independence.
TRUSTEE OF THE YEAR; 2003
The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging named former
Board Chair John E. Cupples, Trustee of the Year in recognition of his
contributions to Rogerson Communities. He is currently president of the
Board of Rogerson House.
METLIFE FOUNDATION AWARD; 2002
The Enterprise
Foundation honored Rogerson Communities' Beacon House
for Excellence in the Affordable Housing within the Asset Management Category.
WILLIAM D. SMITH AWARD FOR ACCESSIBLE DESIGN
AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION; 2002
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Department of Public Safety Architectural Access Board awarded the
Beacon House Renovation for the integration
of accessibility in the foyer, which preserved the character of the building
and contributed to its historic quality.
URBAN LANDSCAPE AWARD; 2001
Roslindale Public Gardens at Longfellow
House received this award for creating "an ideal urban sanctuary,"
with an excellent year-round design and diverse plantings.
ADVOCACY AWARD; 1999
The Alzheimer's Association of Eastern Massachusetts honored Rogerson
Communities for the organization's generous public commitment to advocacy
on an issue involving Massachusetts residents and family members affected
by dementia.
INNOVATION OF THE YEAR AWARD CERTIFICATE
OF MERIT; 1997
Rogerson Communities received this award in recognition of its
nomination to the Association of Massachusetts
Homes and Services for the Aging (AMHSA).
GARDEN CLUB OF AMERICA FOUNDERS FUND AWARD; 1996
Awarded to Peter Faneuil House Garden.
MASSACHUSETTS HISTORICAL COMMISSION PRESERVATION AWARD; 1996
Awarded to Peter Faneuil House for demonstration of outstanding commitment to preservation in Massachusetts.
MASSACHUSETTS HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY CERTIFICATE
OF SPECIAL RECOGNITION; 1992
MassHousing honored Rogerson House for increasing MBE participation by
exceeding the ten percent goal for the fiscal year.
